The participation in ECOL is open to all Examination institutes (or examiners) that can demonstrate they meet the requirements of the ECOL standard. One of the more important requirements is that the examiners should have no family or business relationship with the educators/trainers whose students they are examining.
If you wish to participate as a examination institute the following steps should be taken:
1) You should apply to ECOL for participation by filling out the Application form;
2) The content and structure of your Examination programme should be validatedagainst the ECOL Generic Training Designand the ECOL Table of Learning Outcomes. This validation is performed by Aboma in Ede, the Netherlands (www.aboma.nl)
3) The facility and the equipment used for the examination and the Examiners who perform the examination will have to comply with the Requirement guidelines for Examination institutes.
4) When you are convinced your facility meets all requirements, you can start the certification process by filling out the certification self-assessment form.
After completion your institute will be audited against the ECOL standard by Lloyd’s Register
( https://www.lr.org/nl)and if passed will receive a certificate that, with a service audit after 18 months, will be valid for three years.
Once you have completed the above steps you will be an ECOL-certified examination institute and authorised to organise and perform the ECOL examination.
