After obtaining your ECOL licence, you must log your crane operating experience on a weekly basis in the SkillRecord experience registration system. This log should include the type of crane operated and the type of work carried out.
This will allow you to demonstrate to site managers or potential employers your experience on different types of cranes and sites, and allow them to check your previous experience.
Recording your experience is also important when you need to renew your ECOL licence at the end of the five-year period. It allows you to demonstrate that you have completed the minimum 2500 operating hours over the five year period required to renew your licence.
